For more information, visitwww.Telesat.Com.Purpose of the RoleReporting to the Director, MIS, the Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for analyzing system and network security issues to ensure that no situation will eopardize the security of the systems and network.

The incumbent will test controls and monitor the network.

He or she will have to assess vulnerabilities and perform application tests.

He or she will have to develop contingency plans for security events and train personnel on security procedures.

In addition to security responsibilities, this role includes an operational components level.Main ResponsibilitiesDesign, plan secure IT infrastructure and systemsIdentify, assess or remediate threats to the security and integrity of corporate systems, networks and dataPerform security impact analysis on change requestsMake recommendations and implement security hardeningIn collaboration with network and system administrators, develop and execute security controlReview security event logsIdentify, evaluate and recommend remediation measures for security events.Participate in the response to security incidents through technical analysisDevelop, test and maintain response plans for security eventsDevelop corporate awareness of computer security by providing orientation, educational programs, and ongoing communication to all levels of staffTrain IT staff on network and information security proceduresFacilitate and coordinate security advisory groups to follow up on all necessary security updates and preventive measures in placeEducation & Experience RequiredA Diploma or Degree in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Science together with demonstrated operational network related experienceMinimum of 5 years in Information Technology with at least 3 years in a security environment (with a related University Degree); or,Minimum of eight years in Information Technology with at least 3 years in a security environment (with a three year College Diploma)Specialized Knowledge, Skills& AbilitiesExperience with network equipmentExperience with infrastructure and network toolsExperience in vulnerability analysisExperience with Microsoft Active Directory (2012/2016)Experience with Cloud SecurityExperience with SIEM / SOARCISSP, CISM and or GIAC certification is an assetExperience in risk assessment methodology is an assetKnowledge of industry standards and compliances frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2,PCI-DSS and others)Knowledge of systems management disciplines such as security architecture, disasterrecovery, and user support operationsKnowledge of the nature and sources of network security threats and the methods /techniques for developing solutionsKnowledge of industry standards for network security and operational proceduresAbility to present effectively before a wide range of audiences, maintain confidentiality, anddocument related computer proceduresExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsWorking ConditionsGenerally comfortable office working environment.Appropriate security clearances required.Occasional off hour support may be required.Participation in group pager rotation.Although limited, the employee must be able to travel to corporate facilities.The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP) as well as a Secret Clearance.
