Gym Attendant

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services CFMWS

This is a Full-time position in Gatineau, QC posted November 24, 2021.

THE ROLE The Gym Attendant will greet visitors, establish nature of business and direct them to appropriate area or person, ensure access to the facility and services is by authorized clients only, verify identification cards of clients entering the facility, ensure safety and enforce rules concerning conduct and use of equipment, patrol the facility to ensure rules and regulations are being followed and open and close the facility in accordance with security regulations.

The Gym Attendant will also respond to inquiries, provide information on facilities, programs and services provided, address minor disputes and refer conflicts between clients to the appropriate authority, ensure Loss Prevention Program is enforced for merchandise, supplies, and equipment, assist with established safety procedures in an emergency, inspect equipment and facilities for safety and take corrective action as required, advise supervisor of equipment malfunction, or unsafe conditions, set up and take down equipment, organize equipment and storage areas and monitor equipment returns and ensure proper storage.

The Gym Attendant will also assist with administrative duties, inform new members about facility hours, requirements and rules, ensure areas are kept tidy, receive cash payments and prepare cash deposit, receive and deliver messages to personnel, comply with NPF policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation, ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Program, in conjunction with management, and may act as a Representative or member of a local NPF Committee and perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses High school diploma AND some years experience in a related field.

An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will also be considered AND Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications Experience In cash handling In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing Competencies, Skills and Abilities Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership .
