The organization
Loisir sport Outaouais (LSO) aims to “Stimulate regional development in recreation, sport and outdoor activities, in partnership with the community, in order to promote the development of our communities. LSO achieves its mission primarily through interventions with intermediary organizations. Its members are divided into several distinct groups: municipalities, community organizations, sports, recreation, culture and outdoor associations, as well as the educational community. LSO also coordinates programs in the Outaouais, including the Jeux du Québec, Secondaire en spectacle and several grant programs.

The role of the DG
The Executive Director must be a positive, agile leader who is focused on collaboration and creating value for LSO members and partners. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the team of ten or so professionals in place, the committees and the partners, the Executive Director consolidates, develops and promotes the organization through his or her strategic vision, communication skills and unifying attitude.

Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director manages the organization’s human, material and financial resources in accordance with its mission and strategic development plan. He/she plans and monitors the budgets of the various departments, hires, supervises and assesses the performance of the organization’s personnel. She is responsible for the secretariat and the proper functioning of the Board of Directors and its committees in collaboration with the Chair of the Board. She oversees the implementation of the deliverables identified in the annual action plan in order to achieve the objectives of the organization’s strategic plan. She or he is responsible for relations with financial and strategic partners and directs the organization’s communications.

What you can expect
Leads numerous accomplishments and efforts, such as:
– Develop programs and consulting services, including recreation, sport and outdoor activities, in line with the needs of the municipal, school and association sectors and evaluate the impact of our actions;
– Develop and conclude partnership agreements with several partners while maintaining close relations with these partners from the areas we serve;
– Ensure that regional recreation, sport and outdoor activities stakeholders participate in the consultation tables and that these tables are relevant;
– Develop a service offer to diversify the organization’s revenues;
– To develop and implement the actions of a communication plan aiming at making known our services and achievements;
– Promote the members and their services to the population;
– Position LSO as a recognized leader in the development of recreation, sport and outdoor activities in the Outaouais;
– To put in place the conditions to attract and retain employees who are experts in their field.

Profile sought
– Natural leadership, focused on results and continuous improvement
– Developed strategic vision
– Strong communication and public relations skills
– Comfortable making difficult decisions
– Experience in human resources management and in leading a team of multidisciplinary professionals
– Understanding of the territorial realities of the Outaouais
– Ability to develop and maintain a large network of contacts (an existing network among actors involved in regional development as well as in recreation, sport and outdoor activities)
– Ability to prepare, analyze, optimize and monitor budgets
– Experience in program supervision, reporting and grant applications
and grant applications
– A unifying attitude focused on the concerted efforts of all stakeholders
– Autonomy, organizational skills, good adaptability and thoroughness
