The opportunity With a commitment to launching their Canadian operations before year-end, our client is looking for an HR & Payroll Analyst.

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will take ownership of implementing Ceridian payroll processes and acting as a subject matter expert for timekeeping and payroll, as well as HR data, reporting, and system updates.

What you will do Full cycle payroll processing in Ceridian Payroll environment.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for hourly and salaried employees every two weeks.

You will process changes such as increases, new hires, terminations, etc., and administer year-end payroll processing, tax forms and filings as needed.

You will assist and support employees on a variety of payroll-related issues, including written and telephone inquiries from employees, supervisors, managers and service providers on issues affecting payroll, i.e., vacation, leave of absences, etc.

You will provide paperwork including forms and reports as requested and required, i.e., a record of employment, confirmation of salary, TD-1 forms.

Data analytics.

You will enter data, ensuring accuracy and quality of information while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

You will create and run reports, and analyze data as requested by the business leaders for use in statistical analysis, strategic planning, internal/external surveys, and financial reporting.

Collaboration.

You will build and nurture partnerships within and across teams.

You will provide financial information to prepare the annual budget, forecasts, intercompany and other reports and fulfill requests for reconciliations, requisitions, month-end close and year-end audit.

Optimize.

You will identify and enhance continuous process improvement related to payroll processing and related reporting.

You will stay current with federal/provincial legislation, changes, and best practices to ensure the payroll is compliant and effective.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of best reporting practices to bring standardization and consistency.

Contribute to projects.

You will provide Ceridian payroll expertise and play a critical role in implementing Ceridian for salaried employees.

You will create and deliver Ceridian process training for managers, supporting their business needs.

What you bring: The experience.

You have a relevant diploma or degree, and experience administering Canadian payroll using Ceridian.

You are proficient with MS Office, and you may have exposure to SAP.

You have expertise analyzing data, and you bring insights into creating and running relevant HR and Payroll reports using Ceridian.

You understand the absolute importance of processing payroll on time and accurately.

You think creatively and have an analytical approach to project management, coordinating and completing deliverables on time and budget to meet expectations; you work with a sense of urgency, managing risks and changes, and navigating barriers.
