Provides guidelines for managing data from initial capture in source systems to information consumption by business.

Provides a structure upon which to develop and implement data governance.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities are to develop the data strategy and governance model, architect the data management systems (including master data management and operations data management), specify data formats and data storage patterns and act as the data analytics representative on the architecture team.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDSpecialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities5+ years of experience in the implementation of data management, analysis and warehousing strategies that have positively impacted business objectivesAn undergraduate degree or higher in computer science with a specialization in data science or data analytics, or related discipline, is preferred.Experience in designing, creating and maintaining complex data models and management systems (Azure, GCP, Snowflake etc.)Analyzing structural requirements for new software, applications and cross-functional compatibilityDefining structural and functional capabilities, security, migration, backup and recoveryExperience in designing data analytics systems and data mining (Scripting, Python, Spark, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Databricks, etc.)Experience in assessing and implementing ETL/ELT Experience with various data analytics tools (e.G.

Scripting, R, Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, etc.)Experience designing data analytics systems based on cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) technologiesAgile development, and Machine Learning, AI and Data Lake experience considered a strong asset .Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail.Excellent communication (verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills.Communicates well with own team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals.Occasional international travel is anticipated.The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
