Colliers: Accounting Clerk (5 Month Contract)

As Colliers Project Leaders continues to attract exciting project opportunities, we are seeking a finance-oriented candidate to join our Accounting team for a five month term.You will have the opportunity to gain professional experience by working directly with Accountants, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff, and business analysts.

This position calls for individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative environment, are detail orientated and have a keen interest in developing their operational accounting skills.Our ideal candidate is a recent graduate from an Accounting or Commerce program with some previous experience supporting a busy accounting team.

The roles and responsibilities will provide a broad range of experience that would be helpful for starting your accounting career.Responsibilities What you’ll get to do: Prepare general accounting entries (sales, accruals, prepaids).

Data entry.

Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of financial transactions and compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

Learn project accounting and work within a large ERP system.

Prepare and maintain accounting files, records and reports.

Assist and provide backup support to other accounting staff.

Enter and make changes to the Project Initiation Sheets in the ERP system.

Qualifications What you’ll need to be successful: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.

A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical intuition and problem-solving skills.

The ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

A willingness to support the team as required and work in a collaborative manner The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to effectively and courteously communicate written and verbal information, and to clarify requirements as needed.

A service focused approach and willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet accounting deadlines.
