Installation Technician – Audiovisual

Solotech Montréal

This is a Full-time position in Gatineau, QC posted August 3, 2018.

The Installation technician is tasked with the responsibility of providing audiovisual equipment installation services for our permanent installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration and switching on audio, video, control and electric equipment sold by Solotech;
  • Remain up-to-date and obtain information on technological and audiovisual products;
  • Work closely with the project managers;
  • Represent Solotech with clients;
  • Coordinate the various craftsmen on the building site;
  • Communicate the building site’s needs, the equipment, and the material required to the project manager in order to maintain smooth functioning;
  • Keep the trucks’ inventory updated and loaded with sufficient quantities (material and cabling);
  • Ensure that the work is performed according to health and safety requirements and existing laws;
  • Maintain the tools and the trucks in good condition;
  • Read and ensure follow-up of technical drawings (schemes, simple drawings, rigging details, etc.);
  • Participate in training sessions regarding new technologies and products.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in installation of audiovisual systems;
  • Possess a vehicle and a valid driver’s license;
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different situations;
  • Autonomous, rigorous, disciplined and efficient in team work;
  • Capacity to analyze and resolve different problems;
  • Comfortable with a computer and the Windows environment;
  • Knowledge of audio systems, lighting, video, control and/or videoconference equipment;
  • Able to obtain the security accreditation to work on governmental projects;
  • Fluent in English and French (oral and written).
