Contract Manager, Settlement and Structured Transactions

This is a Contract position in Outaouais, QC posted September 22, 2017.

Reporting to the Director, Settlement and Structured Transactions, the incumbent will be involved in the management of power purchase agreements (PPAs) negotiated with counterparties and power agency agreements (PAAs) between internal companies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of PPA/PAA processes and guidelines to ensure enterprise-wide consistent interpretation and administration;
  • Review existing contracts to identify contractual obligations and translate into a standardized contract template;
  • Coordinate and document contract review meetings and obtain sign off from various internal groups on contractual obligations;
  • Maintain and improve tracking systems to ensure contract compliance and adherence to all contractual obligations;
  • Assist and guide internal groups on the execution of contractual obligations;
  • Be the first point of contact with external counterparties and coordinate the resolution of questions and issues
  • Communicate to Senior Management monthly updates on the resolution of issues and the tracking of expiring PPAs/PAAs
  • Submit various reports to counterparties as per our contractual obligations
  • Analyse contracts general terms and conditions and identify areas of risks and ambiguities to make recommendations to Senior Management;
  • Lead discussions with internal groups and with counterparties to clarify contract ambiguities as they arise;
  • Prepare PPA and PAA related performance reports as required.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business, Finance, Law or in a related discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the energy industry, with a minimum of 2 years in contract management pertinent experience;
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications;
  • Strong English writing and verbal skills in order the review and interpret contracts;
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
