The Role

We are looking for a talented team player to join our marketing and communications team.

The Marketing & Communications Assistant works closely with the Manager, Marketing & Communications and the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to produce a wide range of materials for member companies and for ourselves. In this role you will also take part in our trade show program.

This includes:

  • Customizing existing templates to produce newsletters, brochures, ads and so on, for client companies;
  • Updating online materials on our various websites;
  • Updating and maintaining our social media accounts;
  • Attending events such as the International Plowing Match, the London Farm Show and others (includes some packing and lifting of boxes and equipment, up to 35 lbs);
  • Contributing to membership meetings (such as the annual convention) by producing invitations, graphics, PowerPoint slides and online reservation systems;
  • Administrative tasks including scheduling, copying/filing and inventory management.

Skills/Training Required

  • Mac-savvy, with some PC experience helpful – you will work in the Mac environment
  • Superior online skills and knowledge, especially related to social media channels
  • Experienced in InDesign, Photoshop and WordPress or similar web platform
  • Hands-on experience in graphic design and desktop publishing
  • Adept with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong sense of design
  • Fast and accurate working style
  • Strong communicator, with laser-like attention to detail and the ability to prioritize

Other

  • Some day and overnight travel within Ontario.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Use of a car is helpful but not critical.
